Take a free Snyk peak at cloud native application platform during Black Hat Europe

27/11/2020

App developers looking to protect themselves against threats posed by hackers and the rise of cybercrime are being invited to attend a free virtual session held as part of an annual world-leading information security event.

Hosted by cloud native application platform Snyk and Airnow Cybersecurity at 12pm (noon) GMT on Wednesday 9th December 2020, ‘LIVE HACKING: Securing Containers by breaking in’ (https://snyk.co/ucUro) will provide an understanding of how to minimise attacks and to incorporate best practices into the app development process.

Attendees to the free online event will have the opportunity to see Snyk in action and how it can help find, prioritise and fix vulnerabilities in containers early-on and throughout the development process.

Liran Tal, Snyk Lead Developer Advocate, said:

“Security issues and cybercrime continue to rise at an alarming rate and, in this webinar, we assume the role of the hacker and look to exploit vulnerabilities in packages that could realistically be targeted. In response, we will show participants how to protect themselves against these threats by building up a pipeline and development workflow with security testing in mind.”

Part of the Airnow Group, Airnow Cybersecurity partnered with Snyk in October 2020 to offer global app developers further security measures as part of its best-in-class countermeasures, security testing, training and risk management services.

Mark Adams, Director of Airnow Cybersecurity, explained:

“Airnow’s partnership with Snyk enables us to provide our clients with the ability to continuously monitor and secure code in real-time, which creates a demonstrable advantage.

“Traditionally, an app developer may only begin testing for vulnerabilities once the coding has been completed and, if any issues are identified, this can not only cause significant delays but also lead to increased costs. However, by doing this ‘on the fly’ with Snyk as will be demonstrated at Black Hat Europe, any vulnerabilities can be immediately addressed throughout the process resulting in a quicker and safer launch to market.”

Founded in 1997, Black Hat is an information security event series bringing together the best minds in cyber security. Held annually in Europe, USA and Asia, Black Hat Briefings and Trainings provide attendees with the latest in information security research, development, and industry trends.
